What is the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS)?
Administered by Ofgem, The Great British Insulation Scheme is designed to deliver improvements to the least energy-efficient homes in Great Britain, helping to reduce energy bills. The scheme will work by placing an obligation on medium and large energy companies to deliver measures that result in reduced energy usage. It is intended to run from now until March 2026.

Who qualifies for GBIS?
You may be able to get free or cheaper insulation to reduce your
home’s energy bills.
You might get support if your home:

-
has an energy performance certificate (EPC) of D to G
-
is in Council Tax bands A-D in England or A-E in Scotland or Wales

The scheme is available to tenants and homeowners. However, if you are a
tenant, you will need your landlord’s permission before applying.
If your gross household income is more than £31,000 per year then you
may not qualify for GBIS funding.
What measures are included?
-
Loft Insulation
-
Internal Wall Insulation
-
Room In Roof Insulation
-
External Wall Insulation
-
